Brute Force Superman

This deck focuses on building Wonder Man up to 9 ATK which makes Starstruck a 1 cost attack event that deals 9 damage! Here is my theorycrafting video explaining the deck's concept.

NINE ATK

With the max 3 tucked cards under Ionic Physiology, Wonder Man's ATK gets up to 4. With 3x Brute Force, Aggressive Conditioning, and Combat Training, this jumps all the way to 9 ATK. If Wonder Man uses his basic attack activation, he's forced to discard all his tucked cards and Brute Forces so we want to actually avoid basic attacks. Instead, we want to play cards that use Wonder Man's ATK like his own Starstruck and Unified Strike, which uses Wonder Man's ATK without "basic attacking" allowing us to stay buffed up.

Alter-Ego

This deck was originally designed without knowing 2 cards that were recently revealed for Simon--Wonder Fans & Signature Sunglasses. The Signature Sunglasses in particular gives Wonder Man a very good incentive to flip down because it allows him to recur his most powerful events and play them consistently. Because of this, we want ways to access alter-ego safely in through aggression that's through Psylocke, Gambit, and Professor X. We only have 1 copy of Yaw and Roll for additional thwarting, but if Wonder Man needs more threat removal he can constantly tuck the Yaw and Roll and Active Altruisms under Ionic Physiology, then bring it to hand with the Signature Sunglasses each time he changes form.

Playstyle

This is a build out deck. Wonder Man can control threat with his THW of 2 and focus on getting his economy set up with 5 double+ resources. If he needs to defeat minions, we want to primarily rely on allies and events to deal with them. With Unified Strike, we can prevent allies from taking consequential damage while allowing them to borrow Wonder Man's insane attack stat if we need to take out high HP elite minions. Once the Brute Forces are out Wonder Man can easily do 36 damage in 1 turn with 3x Starstrucks and his basic attack. We can even make sure to tuck Starstrucks under Ionic Physiology and hold them in hand to set up the kill.

Thor & Two-Gun Kid

Thor and Two-Gun Kid are my favorite cards to synergize with this build. Since both of their attacks can hit multiple enemies, Unified Strike makes them insane by adding Wonder Man's ATK to that activation. Thor could potentially swing for 3 + 9 damage to every minion engaged with a player wiping the board and Two-Gun Kid can take out a 10 HP minion in addition to dealing 10 damage to the villain with 1 swing!

I love the Unified Strike + Thor/TGK interactions. Brilliant work WWF!

@saintmatthew Thanks Matthew! That’s definitely one of the highlights of the deck especially at higher player counts helping clear elite minions!

Great deck and similar to what I've been working on. I also really like Dust with Unified Strike in multiplayer. Lower attack than Thor but you don't need to spend the extra resource and it affects the entire table.

@CaptainAmazing Totally agree Dust is a great option! I love those aggression allies that suddenly got way better with Unified Strike, a leadership event

@Web-Warrior Fanatic Yeah it's pretty awesome. Smash the problem is another one I think is great in this deck. 1 cost event to thwart for up to 9 is bonkers. Even if you only thwart for 4-5 it's great value, and in aggression as well!

Brute Force + The Direct Approach + Unified Strike. It occurred to me while reading this deck that Unified Strike also applies to ally thwarts against schemes with the assault keyword. Two copies of The Direct Approach could do a lot of work in multi-player.

Wow I built a very similar deck! What are your thoughts on including Quick Strike? It’s not an energy event but seems like it would fit well in the build.
