This is meant to be a multi-player Strength in Diversity deck. Your goal is to put all as many allies as you can and let them sit in play for Band Together and Strength In Numbers. Then you help build other players' ally reserve with "Welcome Aboard" to increase the Diversity.
Why Star-Lord?
First, every ally gains the Guardian trait, so you can use Knowhere to cycle your own deck and increase the ally limit to 5 (with The Triskelion). Second, when it's time to play Strength in Diversity he can discount it by 3 resources. In effect, you could pay for almost all of the cost in a 4-player game by yourself.
