The Winter Blues

As a child I didn't understand what my grandparents meant by "The Winter Blues", but I certainly do as an adult! The best way to combat these blues IMO is a steady gathering of friends and family (i.e. allies). It's fitting that the blue aspect facilitates that!

The Loop:

• Play Black Widow from hand to return Winter, Widow, Soldier, Spy to hand.
• Play Winter, Widow, Soldier, Spy to put Rapid Response into play (but Silent Infiltration is FIRE if you already have one in play).
• Use Rapid Response on Maria Hill or Nick Fury for the card draw, or on Hawkeye to reload his arrows.
• Play a Regroup (finding it is the hardest part, so drawing lots of cards is key) and let Black Widow block the villain's attack (or a minion if they'll hit hard enough) so she can come back to hand. If you cant let White Tiger also take a hit and come back to hand at the same time even better.

You want to be defeating minions, so Hugin & Munin can find one for you and Hawkeye can soften them up.

Get allies into play with Make the Call and Call for Backup too, but remember that Black Widow's and White Tiger's ability trigger "after you play them from hand", not "after they enter play".

You'll make some basic thwarts and attacks with your allies, but most of them are happy to block for you as long as you're set up for their return via Regroup or Rapid Response, so get some card draw out of them while you can with Strength In Numbers and they'll be ready to block during the villain phase.

I have a priority list for Superpower Training:

• Winter Mask is my highest priority because you're then also getting a card draw when defeat a minion. If you also clear a side scheme with your Lethal Protector Response you'll also get to draw with Mission Leader (which will only cost you 1 to play whether you're in Alter-Ego or Hero form). If you draw the Mask and play it from hand even better, because...
• Winter Rifle is the most expensive upgrade.
• If both are already in play, or you're facing off against a villain who stuns and confuses, Winter Armor is slightly better than the Rifle, but the HP is almost just an add-on. Ideally you're letting your allies take all the hits (but Overkill is a thing too LOL).
