The Engine
Ever since I saw Test the Defense I've been looking to build a deck around it, but it never really panned out. Now with the new Aggressive Stance card, I think it is finally viable. Aggressive Stance allows us to stack the deck by finding the perfect attack event at the perfect time, and no hero out there likes a stacked deck of attack cards like Gambit! In order to keep triggering Aggressive Stance, we are bringing along Angela and all 3 copies of Looking for Trouble. Each time we trigger Aggressive Stance, we get to dig in our toolbox for ways to deal with the minions we just brought out while building up your charge counters on your identity, and test counters on Test the Defense for even more burst damage!
The Stacked deck
Now that we have the perfect way to find attack events, let's look at the attack events you will have access to in your toolbox. Need to Thwart? Grab Into the Fray. Need to heal? Grab Precision Strike. Enemies with Retaliate or Toughness blocking your way? Grab Charged Card. Looking for a huge burst of damage? Grab Royal Flush!
Damage Multipliers
As if all that isn't enough damage, we can play around with a damage multiplying sub-theme. Whenever an attack has multiple instances of damage, like on One by One, Melee, or Royal Flush you can multiply the instances of damage with The Power of Aggression and Warrior Skill. For example, if you fully charge a Royal Flush with your 3 charge counters, you will do 3+3+3 = 9 damage. If you play it with a Warrior Skill or The Power of Aggression ou will do 4+4+4+ = 12 damage, or both combined for a whopping 15 damage!
Nice. Finding/modifying perfect attacks is my favorite way to play Aggression (not that there were many ways to do it before) and Gambit is great for it. I'm glad they added Aggressive Stance to the game.
