Note: This deck is only using cards from Wave 1 & 2.
I’ll be the first to say that this deck isn’t super overpowered, BUT it’s a ton of fun. Thor has a lot of offensive power already but he struggles Thwarting. So the intent behind this build is to minimize the impact of that weakness by rarely, if ever, needing to flip down.
It’s optimized around using The Power of Protection for Multiple Manand both Momentum Shift (2 Damage + 2 Life for 2 Resources) and Energy Barrier (3 Damage + 3 Life for 2 Resources but spread out) as good reasons to have The Power of Protection. All of them prevent damage without forcing Thor to defend, thus freeing him up to attack every turn.
Side Step (1 Damage + 3 Life for 1 Resource) is another good card for keeping your life up without defending again allowing you to keep minions down or make steady progress in killing the villain.
Multiple Man is the cream of the crop for staying up for a long time, three damage or thwart with three turns of blocking for 4 is just insane for this deck. Just make sure to use up all three copies before running your deck out. Obviously, Iron Fist is equally as good as multiple man in preventing damage.
Note: You can use a very similar concept for other hero’s that have trouble managing schemes when flipping down. That said, Thor is particularly good at this as his alter-ego has ability very little impact after turn 1 and his hero ability is insane.
