Let's play Gunboat Diplomacy every turn!
Here is what we need to do:
- Get two allies into play, one being an X-Men and another being X-Force. Children of the Atom makes this even easier!
- Get Gunboat Diplomacy into our hand. Find a way to pay for the Gunboat Diplomacy, Biokinetic Polymer Suit works great here!
- Use Ms. Marvel's Morphogenetics response to pull the Gunboat Diplomacy back to our hand. Hold on to the Gunboat Diplomacy until next turn and repeat.
Let's pump up the Gunboat Diplomacy we play every turn.
- Get Mission Training on two the two allies we are using to play for Gunboat Diplomacy. Children of the Atom will make sure that they are both X-Men.
- Get Embiggen! and Shrink out and use them to pump up Gunboat Diplomacy.
Plan the big turn.
- Throughout the game place two copies of Game Time and one copy of Gunboat Diplomacy under Bruno Carrelli.
- Get Utopia into play.
- Wait until we have another X-Men/X-Force ally and enough resources (we will need either one double resource, a One Way or Another or to start the turn in alter-ego) in hand to play everything.
Play Gunboat Diplomacy three times in a turn.
- Activate Bruno Carrelli to add two Game Times and a Gunboat Diplomacy to our hand.
- Play Gunboat Diplomacy and turn it to our hand with Morphogenetics.
- Play two Game Times, targeting each of the two allies used to pay for the first Gunboat Diplomacy.
- Play the Gunboat Diplomacy again.
- Play an ally from our hand using Utopia to ready another ally.
- Play the copy of Gunboat Diplomacy that we had in our hand at the start of the turn from using the Morphogenetics ability on it the previous turn.
Could we find a way to play Gunboat Diplomacy a fourth time in a turn? Probably, but isn't three enough?

Dec 16, 2024Love gunboat decks and I love how we got a Ms marvel mutant deck now that she's a mutant in the comic world. Don't play her much at all but I'll be trying this out! |

Dec 27, 2024Love it! Gotta play this in multiplayer, so someone can make her an X-men. Not only would that be thematic, but could totally break the deck. It would let you ready her with Utopia and Professor. If the other players have X-men allies, you would be able to go way over 3 gunboats in a turn lol |
