Gambit not okay

No, not like that!

Gambit okay

That's better.

Gambit is a guy who likes sure bets, and does everything he can to stack the odds in his favor. To that end, he likes to be sure the house loses as much as it can. To that end, Serve and Protect helps us ensure we can take attacks and Hangar Bay will stand any allies up with toughs so they can still use their abilities!

Full disclosure: This deck mostly shines in multiplayer. It works okay in solo, and spending 3 cards to get two toughs and a threat off the main isn't terrible, but the value definitely goes up with more players.

What's the plan?

We want to hard mulligan for Children of the Atom and see it as early as possible. We need this to turn on Serve and Protect. We do have Deadpool as a backup, but ultimately we want to get Children of the Atom online asap.

Once that happens, we are in business! Serve and Protect works on Step 1 of the villain phase threat, or if one of your buddies is down and will get schemed on. We're hoping to use this to get toughs on allies, who then can defend for us (Hangar Bay readies the allies after that).

Defiance is here to help Gambit defend and guarantee a ready from Gambit's Guild Armor, and Unflappable is a nice-to-have when that happens. Utopia helps us ready and The X-Jet is our money.

But why these allies?

Honestly, hard to go wrong. However, we are still getting some secret value out of these:

Multiple Man lets you get three allies at once so you can Serve and Protect sooner!

Northstar helps Gambit proc Gambit's Guild Armor and the tough can keep him going. Not always helpful, but great if piercing rears its ugly head

Pete Wisdom Who doesn't like thwarting 3 for into a tough instead of two consequential?

Rockslide keep that retaliate going!

You could probably make some swaps, but I found this group very fun.

Time to stack those odds and place your bets!

Children of the atom turns the X-alliance cards from meh to really consistent! Looking forward to checking this one out

We gotta save the children! The Children of the atom. Serve em protect them.

Green gambit is my favorite. And, I have yet to play Serve and Protect. Perfectly executed to catch my eye.

Really interesting, haven't tried serve and protect since I usually play solo and it didn't seem worth it most of the time. Children of the atom is awesome. Ill have to try this out!

This is just ONE reason I look for Caldias decks. Theme is great, but Caldias never sacrifices the strength of a deck by being too focused on the theme. How he balances this is impressive. He re-writes and writes comics with cards. I’m a fan!

Every tool in the shed sharply honed. This is the first deck I’ve personally seen in months that’s in a league of its own. Nice job!!!

Been loving Serve and Protect with Children of Atom. Been playing with my wife running Gunboat Diploamcy and my son running Mutant Mayhem. Been super fun and don't even have to chump block anymore! Came in great vs Apocalypse with Overkill and the infinites. Mutant Maybem can keep health high with awesome when entering play abilities, and Gunboat Diploamcy gives huge hits while leaving allies health intact. It's been super fun and efficient.
