INTRODUCTION
Colossus with the Protection aspect is one of my favorite heroes in the game, and I always take advantage of new content releases to improve the deck as much as possible. With the release of Nightcrawler, we now have some protection cards that fit perfectly with Colossus.
STRATEGY
The idea is to always finish the round in alter ego form, to draw 6 cards. For this, it's crucial to always have the Acorazarse, card in hand, as it allows us to switch to hero form during the villain’s activation and prevent them from scheming. Once the villain phase is over, we can take any actions we want as a hero, finishing our round by returning to alter ego form. As the game progresses, the deck will become more streamlined, and with cards like Educación para mutantes or Estudio de Piotr, it will become increasingly easy to have one or two copies of Acorazarse.
Another important consideration, as crucial as maintaining the dynamic use of Acorazarse, is to try to preserve as many "Tough" statuses as possible at the start of our round. Discarding them during the use of Colossus' events will allow us to optimize them to the fullest.
DECK BREAKDOWN
Below, I will detail the most relevant cards, explaining their inclusion in the deck:
Hope Summers: If we are lucky enough to draw her in the first hand along with a copy of Meditación, we can play her on the first turn and search for a copy of Acorazarse.
Northstar: His interruption allows us versatility when deciding how to defend an attack, depending on the "Tough" statuses we have.
Educación para mutantes: In the later stages of the game, with Mansión X in play, we can draw an additional card.
Meditación: Very useful, especially in the early rounds, as we can exhaust the alter ego to play expensive cards at the start.
Perseverancia: Useful to try to finish with a "Tough" status after the villain phase, enabling the use of Colossus' special superhero event actions at the start of our round.
Riposte: A nearly guaranteed "retaliation" of 3 damage, especially if we have a "Tough" status.
Astonishing X-Men: Colossus is not good at thwarting, so this side scheme is perfect.
Moira MacTaggert: Guaranteed card draw at the beginning of each villain phase when we use Acorazarse.
Inquebrantable: Useful when facing villains that specialize in stunning/confusing.
I hope you enjoy this deck!
