hello, here’s a sweet deckbuild for quicksilver. he’s an awesome hero with unlimited potential. this idea originally came from Remedy of the Alter Egos podcast, and after some talks with him and refining. this is where I ended up.

this is an OTK deck (one turn kill). the idea is to set up your board state and just maintain the board against the villain and then you have that turn where you just pop off and take down both stages (1&2 or 2&3 for expert) in one turn. you can pull this off in 2 player/2 handed as well. ideally you would get to an 8/9 ATk and attack 9-11 times that turn. leadership allows us to get there because they have the most buff effects in the game.

allies: I want cheap allies, they are basically Strength in Numbers engines because I want to go off with pietro, I might use an ally to block or thwart but they aren’t here for damage.

events:

  • morale boost is really good with QS because we know he’s gonna ready so much
  • strength in numbers is just silly. we can get to 6 and soon 7 allies out on the board, allowing us to draw tons of cards a game which most makes us even more efficient.
  • avengers assemble is here to give us that final +1 the round we pop and to reset our allies to get a second strength in numbers off in one round to draw 10 cards.

upgrades:

  • adrenaline rush- another atk booster, we want to get all of these out to use our pop off round
  • tenacity - can’t believe I’m saying this but tenacity is really good in QS. there’s a silly line of play where, we get all 3 tenacity out and we use friction resistance to trigger a reset then we get to ready friction resistance and we do that 3 times, it’s silly and efficient and allows us to get those resets we need to OTk the villain

so how are we doing this much damage? reinforced sinew- +1 ATK taking us to 2 adrenaline rush x3- +1 ATK ea taking us to 5 morale boost x3 - +1 ATK taking us to 8 maximum velocity - +2 ATK taking us to 10

so play strength in numbers when we are set up to draw a bunch, attack with quicksilver, he readies, we attack again. then use Avengers Assemble to ready everyone and get that +1 attack taking us to 11, then we use strength in numbers again and draw another 5, now we can use our tenacity cards to attack 3 more times and always be running 4 times to attack for a grand total of 10 attacks in a round 2 for 10 damage and 8 for 11 damage taking us to 108 damage potential in one round!

obviously you don’t need to even get that many resets in for a solo game, but you see the potential here, lots of our cards stay on the table so when we are set up and we use strength in numbers we should see the cards we need to get it done .

have fun!

What about Earth's Mightiest Heroes?

@DukeWellington I thought about it but tenacity works better here I think. Since I want my allies to be strength in numbers engines, EMH takes away from That, I could use sky cycle, but then I’m using 6 cards to get the same effect I get from the 3 tenacity. Also since they sit on the table, it’s easier for me to see the rest of the cards I need off the strength in numbers later.

@BananaCrapshootI'm confused when you say "we can get to 6 and soon 7 allies out on the board" - with this deck I can only see how to get 5: 3 usual + Avengers Tower + stinger. You could get to 6 with Triskelion, but that's not in the deck. And is there another card coming out soon that let's you get more allies out?

@BananaCrapshoot``@DukeWellington Tenacity certainly works better with Friction Resistance but it's a much steeper investment for the ready. If not going for the OTK but just a consistently punchy Quicksilver deck then I think Earth's Mightiest Heroes makes sense. It helps keep those allies on the board on turns when you don't draw into SIN etc. But for the OTK Tenacity reigns. Boy what a lot of set up for that kill though! Why Adrenaline Rush isn't Max 1 per player in play is silly-pants. :p

Nice deck and write up @BananaCrapshoot

I’m torn on Tenacity too, but I am enjoying the card for the first time.

Worth noting that Magical Enhancements makes Doc a good teammate for this idea in multi-hero games.

@NerdyDragon in the Starlord reveal article there’s a card that increases your ally limit by 1 if you are a guardian. Hopefully the cycle will contain some equivalent to Honorary Avenger for heroes like Quicksilver to gain that trait, but we haven’t seen it yet.

@celricstarlord ability makes all allies you control guardians. And if you play all avengers Allies you can use avengers tower, triskelion, knowhere, to get to 7 and make the call stinger in for 7.

@KennedyHawkyea takes a lot of set up but you don’t need to go with what I laid out 100%, like especially in solo play you only need roughly 35- 50 damage to OTK 99% of villains

`@BananaCrapshoot``how can you get 7 allies down on the board if you only have 6 allies in the deck.

Feb 08, 2021 BananaCrapshoot · 4831

@Superboshermost allies I usually get out is 5. I don’t have triskelion in here so I can’t get 6 out, I should rephrase that part, that was more a general comment on how ridiculous strength in numbers is, as when Star lord comes out we can get 7 allies out in play potentially.

Feb 08, 2021 Superbosher · 147

@BananaCrapshootyou only have 6 allies in the deck Ant Man, Hawkeye, female Hawkeye, Squirrel Girl, Stinger and Scarlet Witch so how do you get 7 allies down on the board at the same time.

Feb 08, 2021 NocturnalAnimal · 17577

@SuperbosherI suspect when@BananaCrapshoot references 'soon 7 allies' they are referring to the preview article for Star Lord which showed the Knowhere Support card.

Feb 08, 2021 Superbosher · 147

@NocturnalAnimalHow do you get 7 ally limit when Avengers Tower gives you 1 more which is 4 and then the Triskellon and that is 5 and Knowhere is 6 ally limit so how do you get 7 ally limit.

it feels just so great using friction resistance to pay for morale boost at the start of your turn

Just wanted to provide an update here.

I’m playing this currently into GMW camping, got through escape the museum, gonna get nebula and hopefully Ronan tonight.

For the collector(infiltrate) you have to forego adrenaline rush and tenacity, so you can’t build the same board but the rest of the stuff still works great, and he doesn’t have high HP so you can still get him down pretty quickly!

remember that damage does not carry over between villain stages, so you need to do two separate instances of damage for each stage.
