Jessica Jones is finally out! I came up with this deck the day she was previewed and now I can finally use it (tomorrow once the pack arrives playthrough coming soon). Now into the way this deck works.
Jessica Jones overview
So Jessica Jones is a 3 THW 2 ATK 1 DEF hero with 11 health and whenever she uses her basic powers she puts one investigation counter on her signature support Alias Investigations which after the defeat of a side scheme gives you the opportunity to remove investigation counters equal to the villains current health to defeat that villain stage so as you may think that’s what her kit focuses on. She also has an ability in alter ego mode that lets her switch back to hero form encouraging her switching forms. So like you might think she is made for justice very well but, the card that caught my interest is her Leather Jacket a card that gives her plus 2 DEF giving her a 3/2/3 stat line with the additional benefit of placing an investigation counter on alias whenever she defends which is separate from the one that gets placed by her basic power. So that one upgrade puts her stats on par with phase 3 iron heart which is wild for a 2 cost upgrade. One of her other upgrades Circumstantial Evidence places one investigation counter on alias whenever an enemy is defeated which can partially refund cards of hers like "Big Mistake", Alias Investigations or 4K Digital Camcorder more on those shortly. Her support Calling in Favors lets you remove 2 investigation counters to find and play an ally from her deck reducing the cost by 2 while in alter ego mode which can be used to find Luke Cage. Also in alter ego mode you can use her 4K Digital Camcorder which lets you remove investigations equal to 2 less than the amount of remaining hit points if a non elite minion to defeat said minion. There’s also her signature player side scheme Piecing It All Together that doesn’t count against the player side scheme limit starts with 6 threat on it and lets whoever defeats it draw 3 cards.
The aspect use.
So with the boost from her jacket plus that of Armored Vest, ronin, innate reflexes, Defense Specialist and Defensive Conditioning giving her even more DEF, which makes "Stop Hitting Yourself" do bigger damage and while doing damage gaining more counters on alias investigations. To meet the side scheme clearing requirement utilize True Grit and Not Today! to remove threat while defending and placing more counters on alias investigations, giving the chance to trigger Change of Fortune on the villain giving you card draw after triggering alias investigations. Taunt gives you more chances to defend with the added benefit of card draw . With her event Breakthrough and army of one as ways to provide readies you can utilize her incredible stat line to gain investigation counters while tearing up whatever the scenario throws at you. And to increase the amount she can flip I added Ready for a Fight to let her flip in the villain phase when she can’t trigger her passive or when she doesn’t have or want to trigger "Now I'm Ticked Off!".
Additional information
Ronin and army of one are here since her obligation Work-Life Balance can remove the only ally in the deck. I also noticed that Jess would be pretty good for the spike black hole that is the ronin archetype but I wanted to not fall into that instantly with Jess. Superpower Training can give us a side scheme to clear and can search out the jacket. You could also if you need more thwart use Specialized Training to get Surveillance Specialist or if you want more defense get Defense Specialist.
Ok I know that’s a lot of reading but, if you enjoyed a more detailed write up let me know. And if you have any other feedback let me know as well.
