Spectrum has 3 copies of a hero-specific defense event: Pulsar Shield. Not only that, she has TWO resource generators that can be used in the villain phase to power defense events. Sounds like a prime candidate for Flow Like Water.
Pulsar Shield conditionally grants retaliate not just for a single attack but until the end of the phase. Add Dauntless and now she is a retaliate 2 hero. Cuts Both Ways will occasionally add another +1 retaliate for the phase. Ping another damage using Electrostatic Armor.
Buffing her hit points with Defensive Conditioning and Endurance makes Dauntless more consistent. Soaring Acrobatics is clutch for those moments when the villain has +1 ATK. Increase her base DEF stat further with Armored Vest. Clear Specialist Training to make Spectrum the Defense Specialist with another +1 DEF and draw a card. Further increase card draw with Change of Fortune and Unflappable.
I Can Do This All Day allows her to defend without exhausting. Powerful Punch pushes damage in the villain phase.
Jocasta can bring Pulsar Shield from the discard pile and hold it until needed. Yellow Jacket will help find the many upgrades to build out.
Nerves of Steel supplements Energy Duplication to pay for defense events. Defensive Energy will pay for a defense event and draw a card.
