Silk is an underplayed hero for me, so I decided to build a deck for her. Additionally, I challenged myself to only use the cards in my collection that are not currently included in my other decks. I then realized that I have many unused Web-Warrior allies - mostly in Protection - and decided to finally give them a shot.

Key cards and cool interactions:

  • Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) is Spider-Man (Peter Parker)'s best friend. He effectively grants him up to 5 additional uses of his basic powers and readying, which is crazy good. But that's not all. He can also save Silk's life by taking a massive attack for her. I love this guy.

  • Scarlet Spider (Kaine) is a weird one, but he actually impressed me quite a bit. He interacts well with Get the Scoop and Madame Web - you know exactly what the next encounter card is gonna be. Fun!

  • Spider-Man Noir competes for the Treachery cards with Silk herself, but he doesn't spend them, so he can hold on to them for a very long time. Locking away an Advance or Under Fire before the encounter deck resets is awesome. Noir can grow up to 3/3 which is respectable, so Scarlet Spider (Ben) likes taking that consequential damage for him.

  • Spider-Man (green Miles) is not great by any stretch, but he can shine against any non-Steady/Stalwart villain. Preventing two villain activations with one ally is a good deal. It was nice finally giving him a chance to do his thing.

  • Spider-UK is basically a minion slayer most of the time. Defend a minion attack with him, trigger his interrupt for up to 5 damage, bam, minion gone before it even deals damage.

  • Investigative Journalism is such a cool team-up card. With Ben taking the hits for Peter, he will most likely stick around long enough for you to use this event. I love that it still does something against Steady/Stalwart villains.

  • The rest of this deck has a Perfect Defense flavor to it. Silk is naturally good at defending with her 3 Defense stat, Spider Reflexes and Organic Webbing to ready back up, so I decided to lean into that aspect. Not much extra payoff beyond Unflappable but not taking damage does get the job done.

While not the most powerful, this deck has been a real joy to play and it made me appreciate Silk so much more. She did manage to take down Expert Venom a couple times which was really satisfying to pull off.

Hope you enjoy!
