Bobby Drake is the hottest new Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. — well, the coldest, too. But his mission is TOP SECRET and, for this reason, he cannot include any of his old X-Men friends as allies, and Basic cards altogether are right out.
"No Utopia? No Deft Focus? No Team-Building Exercise?" I hear you say. (Actual quote from a friend.) That's right!
The game plan is play allies, get Band Together online, and then enjoy the fun of playing a spendy Ice Blast or Frozen Solid with a single copy of Band Together. I guarantee you, it is fun.
It is rough having no extra readies outside of possibly Cryokinetic, I grant this. One strategy for making sure you can operate successfully: if you have Cryokinetic Perception and you are stunned or confused going into the villain phase, consider defending. This guarantees you will get the card draw from Cryokinetic, and it's possible you'll ready, too, if it's an ICE card, and then in the player phase you can activate to remove your stunned or confused status. It's poor people mentality, but that's where we're living without any of our key Basic cards (not even Energy, Genius, or Strength!).
I think the rest you can discover on your own. It should work well enough in both solo and multiplayer (with extra value from Mission Leader and extra copies of Clarity of Purpose to go around). Have fun! Shout out to the Winning Hand's new episode on Ice Blast — it's part of what inspired this deck.
(And if you're wondering the theming on those Avenger allies included, the hero versions of all three of them have S.H.I.E.L.D. traited alter-egos.)
Iceman without his basic resource generators is a tall task! Digging the SHIELD theme too
