Winter Soldier is here and his mission? To take out enemies as often as possible to trigger his hero ability which removes 2 threat from any scheme.

Being an assassin, it seems fitting to take them out during the villain's turn. How are we going to do that? With a combination of tech upgrades and some defense events.

Setup

To get set up we want:

Cybernetic Arm which can be searched turn 1. This pays for attack events and gives them +1 damage. Also a target for Repurpose

Change of Fortune which draws us 2 cards when we defeat an enemy during the villain phase.

Safe House #30 lets us FIND a minion in AE from the encounter deck and put them into play as well as draw a card.

Winter Mask which draws us a card when we attack and defeat an enemy.

Winter Armor gives steady and +3 health.

Winter Rifle gives us +2 attack as well as piercing and ranged for that attack.

Energy Barrier which reduces damage we take by 1 and deals it back to the enemy. Also a target for Repurpose.

Electrostatic Armor deals 1 damage to the enemy when we defend. Also a target for Repurpose.

Enhanced Physique generates a resource. This is to help with getting Ready for a Fight down as well as hitting the kicker for What Doesn't Kill Me.

Mission Report

This deck is a combo CoF and Repurpose deck which seems on brand for Bucky. We are going to be dealing damage in both phases while also removing threat in both stages.

Powerful Punch and Arm Block can be pumped up with the arm for more damage. Defeating an enemy with either of these will draw us 3 cards from CoF and the Mask.

Energy Barrier and Electrostatic will not trigger the mask but will trigger CoF.

Against Collector 2 in Expert i had a turn where I used Powerful Punch to defeat a Psionic Ghost triggering CoF and the mask. Then used an Arm Block to finish off Collector's HP which also removed the last threat from Stage 2 pushing us to stage 3. In total, defeated 2 enemies, drew 3 cards and removed 10 threat in the villain phase (4 from defeating the 2 enemies and 6 from defeating collector).

Bucky doesn't need many allies, we have Brother Voodoo who can help find us an event and Jocasta who can grab us a defense event from discard.

Ready for a Fight is here when we have a defense event in hand and want to avoid the scheme for that turn. We can trigger it to then flip back and use our defense event to mitigate damage or defeat a minion.

We can also trigger Silent Infiltration when we defeat an enemy in the villain phase which will let us confuse and ready. We can then go to AE and use the Safehouse to find a minion for our next turn. Practiced Plan can recur Silent for us.

Use Repurpose to deal some extra damage or remove larger chunks of threat. I was able to one turn Repurpose the Arm and use the Rifle to pierce a tough minion one-shotting it removing threat and hitting the confuse from silent. The card draw from the mask let me flip to AE and immediately get my arm back into play.

Overall this deck has been a ton of fun and performs extremely well. It is more of an aggressive Protection deck that will not defend for the table.

I would love to hear any feedback or experiences with it!

Dang! Looks like such a great use of Change of Fortune. I love arming him with Powerful Punch! That’s a cool way to center on triggering CoF. I’m gonna play this tonight

@andyr thank you! I really enjoy CoF with him, there may not be a better match with a cybernetic arm and powerful punch. Hope it goes well if you get a chance to play it!
