PLAYTHROUGH VERSUS EXPERT VENOM GOBLIN
PLAYTHROUGH VERSUS EXPERT MAGNETO
Deck Profile & Explanation
Jubilee & Nick Fury working with the beat cop police force unleashes the ultimate combo!
Shopping Spree is the most unique card in the game. It's the only player side scheme that does not go into the victory display when its defeated, meaning it can be cleared multiple times per game. This unlocks really powerful combos, the most notable being the ability to spam the strongest card in the game, Nick Fury.
Shopping Spree states that heroes and allies cannot remove threat from this scheme, which means only alter-egos and supports can. Aside from using Disguise in alter-ego, Beat Cop can remove threat from Shopping Spree whether Jubilee herself is in hero or alter-ego. I prefer Beat Cop over Surveillance Team because it can stay in play forever. Jubilee also has the high economy to afford a more expensive support. When 2 Beat Cops are in play, we can clear off Shopping Spree every turn.
The biggest key to this combo is Chance Encounter, which we can attach to Shopping Spree to grab Nick Fury every time we clear it. Being able to play the most flexible ally in the game almost every turn for draw power/threat removal/damage will give Jubilee's shopping a high payout and crush the villain.
Other notable cards:
Mutant Education feels like its made for Jubilee. Jubilee's alter-ego action, Mall Rat, can only search the deck for Shopping Spree. This means while the side scheme is in the discard pile, we can't recur it. Mutant Education constantly shuffles it back into the deck so that Mall Rat can immediately put it back into play.
Cell Phone is an item card that's reusable and a good target for Shopping Spree after all our other items are already in play. Honestly, we don't even need the "when defeated" effect of Shopping Spree because Nick Fury is strong enough to carry the game, but Cell Phone is essentially a free card to play because of the amount of times we're clearing Shopping Spree. This item is also much better in multiplayer to allow us to make basic activations out of turn.
Skilled Investigator is a difficult card to navigate in this deck, but still worth it. Jubilee has multiple ways to clear side schemes in alter-ego, but Skilled Investigator is a hero response and only triggers when we're in hero form. It's important to always pay attention to sequencing to make sure we can trigger Skilled Investigator before flipping down and the Beat Cops will help heavily with that.
Jubilee & Nick Loves Side Schemes
We're running a total of 5 player side schemes and One Way or Another in this deck to have more side schemes available in case we don't have a reliable way to clear Shopping Spree early game. "Cable Impersonator" was my alternate deck name for this list.
Conclusion
I was really excited to showcase this deck out for you guys, but unfortunately don't have access to Jubilee yet. Hopefully this deck runs as smoothly as I'm imagining and I would love to hear your feedback. Hope you enjoy this list!
Update: After playing this deck, I have to say it is extremely difficult to pilot. The responses for alter-ego or hero form makes sequencing complex...but when everything clicks together the payout is definitely worth it :)

Jul 23, 2024How do you get 12 likes & favorites on a deck you published a few hours ago and haven't even played? Do you just have 12 accounts to pump up your ratings or something? |

Jul 23, 2024Not upset, genuinely curious. In my mind I sort of reserve the published deck space of cdb for polished decks with a decent amount of testing to support it. But maybe I use it differently than most. |

also a lot of people write entire blog posts roleplaying or memeing in their deck descriptions (especially the old ones) |
Jul 24, 2024I like the concept. I hope to try it soon. I find it weird that people want to police this site... |

Jul 24, 2024`@Web-Warrior Fanatic Hey, there something i can’t understand : Jubilee can only put Shopping Spree in game from the deck. How can you get it from your discard pile ? I can’t see the card that makes you do it … thanks ! |

Jul 24, 2024After you play the deck, I would love to know how you feel. It seems like recurring shopping spree might be a little clunky especially with the other player side schemes potentially in play. Beat cops are a really fun card in this list, especially if you manage to get multiples! Jubilee seems to have some good confuse capabilities and mutant education just seems to synergize so well with that, so that seems like a great strategy. I might try to build her into some more alter ego centric builds as well. Excited to hear how it goes! |
Jul 25, 2024Are the double resources mostly just for Nick, Wolverine, and Beat Cops? |

I love alter-ego shenanigans and feel like there’s big potential with Shopping Spree. Thanks for checking out the deck :) |

Jul 25, 2024Who dares question Web-Warrior?! Man is one of the best Champions players around. |
Jul 25, 2024Thought I'd pop into the discussion with two thoughts... Firstly, I don't think there's any problem with posting decks without having played them. I'll let you all in on a secret - the first deck that I posted that really racked up a number of likes on here (Brute Force Arrows) - well... I've never once played that deck actually. I theory-crafted the idea that I thought was interesting, but I haven't never actually played that deck in 3 years. Personally I think there's a place here to share cool ideas, especially ones that haven't been seen before. Not every deck posted needs to be vetted using multiple Expert villains. Or accompanied with a video proving how powerful the deck is. Second thought I thought I would share is that I don't think this Nick Fury recursion loop is going to be as powerful as you think it is though. I'm a huge fan of loops, so I like to think I have some expertise. As I look at this one, I think the problem you'll have is that it doesn't net anything positive. What I mean is that you'll need to thwart 2 in order to get Shopping Spree to trigger Chance Encounter. Then, you'll get Fury into hand which will cost 4 resources to play. I think most people typically pick the 3 cards option, which then means that you've cycled your deck faster and are down one card in order to play Nick on the table. The problem here then is that Nick provides for you 2 ATK or 2 THW and a block for this one card cost. 2 THW is probably the more valuable move, but this is what you needed to pay for the Shopping Spree in the first place. So rather than thwart with Nick, you could have just used the Beat Cops to thwart 2 somewhere else. So at this point, Nick has cost you one card, but is giving you a block and some card cycling. Now to be fair, there is still the added cost of needing to put down Chance Encounter previously, so now Nick's block has cost us two cards. That's probably the going rate for negating a villain's attack. BUT, we would have needed to invest 8 resources into playing two Beat Cops previously... so that really cuts down on when we start getting a return on our investment, which I'm not sure is really that valuable of a return. Now in all fairness, you do also get a free item each time you do this. Her Coat and Glasses will likely be your first targets, which will give you 6 ER back in return for those first two times. That needs to be accounted for for sure. But a free Cell Phone isn't a super big reward on after the first two times going through Shopping Spree, especially given the tempo needed to be given up to get those Beat Cops down first. TL;dr version then is that each time you play Nick after the first two, it essentially boils down to getting a free Cell Phone and a block for 2 ER because the 2 THW is the payment cost. That's not a particularly great payoff based on how many hoops you need to jump through first. Anyways, all that being said, if it is fun, hopefully people will enjoy it. Personally, I think the idea is clever to try and use Chance Encounter. I just don't think Nick is the right ally for this setup though. Cheers! |
Jul 27, 2024Great idea. I'm looking forward to trying this out. I love that Shopping spree is being cleared with a two-fold purpose of not only getting items but more importantly used to recur an ally! |
Jul 27, 2024Chance encounter loops was definitely something I wanted to explore for Julbilee, so I like the idea here. After playing my first game with her last night, I will recommend cutting down the number of side schemes. Honestly if you are solo or 2 player, it's best to cut all of them (or keep 1 at most) if you are going shopping often with mutant education. That side scheme slot is just simply never available. I'd replace them with a few more allies. Prof, Ironheart, Vivian, Blindfold etc sound good. I'm also skeptical about how easy it is to get those beat cops out, getting 1 is easy enough but 2 is quite a commitment. |
Jul 28, 2024I swapped a couple of beat cops and side schemes to get 4 lower cost allies. I needed the allies to help her survivability. |

Jul 28, 2024Consider using Husk and maybe a mission training over Cell Phone. She is exceptionally powerful if you can consistently trigger the ready+heal. Jubilee has the resources to do so! I think Husk is a new staple of ANY Justice deck that can afford her. |

Jul 29, 2024I built a deck similar to this, just adding Followed for more side scheme shenanigan fun, and it works very well. Here's hoping we get some more side scheme upgrades in the future! |

Jul 31, 2024Man, you're one of the go-to best deck builders that I steal from on here! Don't let the nay-sayers get you down. You know the game so well, how the cards interact with each other, and your write-ups are always fantastic. I can't imagine you "need" to actually play something to see how it would all work. I appreciate all your contributions and delight in reading what you craft here. Do what you want! We're all the better for it. |

Jul 31, 2024So much fun. Pure control. But it was not a « rush ». I thwarted 4-5 times the mall, got Fury about this much. Very cool. I just added 2 multi talented because of versatility and great efficiency activating the Coat & Glasses at the same time. Having more than 40 cards is ok because we mill the deck hard. Great job again ! I love Jubilee ! |

Aug 03, 2024Just read the last ruling and it is just one instance of damage. You only count them as different instances of damage if the "for each" clause has you "choose" a target every time. Still, over the course of the game it can add up to a lot of damage. I played her with Miles since he also has a lot of confuse in his deck, he can also search for his web shooters as they are items and Float is also good for him. This is the deck I used for him if you're interested: marvelcdb.com |
Aug 03, 2024I guess you could switch the Overwatch there for Surveillance Teams, maybe add Monica Chang for an easier way for Miles to complete Shopping Spree. |

Aug 19, 2024I didn't realize supports weren't included so I didn't ever use disguise in my previous games. Now though, I'm going to go back and try this again. |
Aug 19, 2024Thanks First of all You put in the deck the SS “specialized training”. When you use it, do you put aside the 4 specialized cards? I’m missing this point. |

Sep 30, 2024I didn't enjoy during mutant genesis. First three villains on first attempts, Mansion attack in 7th and Magneto on 8th. Standard mode. I was struggling... |
