The idea is to try and use some newer cards with the old hero. So to that end it has all the discard for effect style cards such as Digging Deep and White Fox so the Futurist ability and Repulsor Blasts can hit something extra for you.

It does the whole Repurpose thing with the Barriers and Generators hoping to leverage a bunch of readies including Ever Vigilant when you are ariel. It also puts Angel's Soaring Acrobatics card to use being a new one.
