One of the most interesting heroes in the game is Spider-Woman because with every expansion that comes out she gets exponentially more new deck ideas out of combining two aspects than any other old hero does.

This time it's the new Protection upgrade, Pinned Down, and how it sets up poor unsuspecting minions to have to watch as you use "Bring It!" to repeatedly fill your hand full of lots of cards and smash their boss in the face time and time again. It's even pretty thematic as I imagine Pinned Down is really just Spider-Woman webbing these bad guys to the wall.

I've been playing Protection/Aggro Spider-Woman for a long time now (https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/9779/momentum-drop-spw-prot-aggro-1.0). It wasn't published but my last version of the deck was a Leading Blow/Jarnbjorn thing and that's where I picked this up and plugged that huge potential for flurries of damage output into the new card drawing and minion-ignoring engine. It's a perfect match, with Bring It just adding more fuel to the engine and Pinned Down meaning you don't get distracted by dealing with minions.

  • Angela & Looking For Trouble find you minions.
  • Pinned Down sticks those minions in play.
  • Bring It! draws you loads of cards.
  • Play all those cards because they're cheap.
  • Pump up Spider-Woman's ATK
  • Smash the villain.
  • Ready.
  • Smash the villain again.
  • Ready again.
  • Smash the villain again again.
  • Repeat to fade.

Simples! This might be a 'protection' deck but the green cards support your offense just as much as the red cards do. It's a swift and dangerous deck that has lots of control effects in Spider-Woman's basic arsenal (Inconspicuous, Pheremones, Contaminant Immunity) and everything else is just quick and painful things to do the enemy and his minions.

Tons of fun and highly recommended to give this a try!

Two things to watch out for: Pinned Down is great (it really is!) but there's two drawbacks to worry about. Firstly it's not so great when the minions have Guard because you have to kill them anyway to get the villain so kill the Guards and save Pinned Down for other dudes, and secondly while you're removing their ATK you have to be careful about the SCH you've left sitting on the table if you ever go to Alter-Ego.

Very clever! Looks like a fun deck. May take it through a game on TTS!
