Winter Soldier Aggression — Relentless Firepower

Hello, fellow Aggression players!

Once again, I’m back with an updated version of my favorite and most-played deck in Marvel Champions: Winter Soldier Aggression.

This is a deck I’m particularly proud of because it has achieved a very high win rate for me in both Solo and Multiplayer (3–4 players). I’ve taken this deck through every Scenario and every Campaign on Expert difficulty, including some of the toughest bosses in the game such as Ronan, Loki, Venom Goblin, Magneto, Kingpin, and Electro (The Getaway).

The matchup I found the most challenging was Expert Magneto, but even that fight is far from impossible.

The list I’m presenting here is relatively simple to play, but at the same time, it captures Bucky’s assassin-like playstyle extremely well.

How the Deck Plays

The basic game plan is straightforward: keep progressing through the game while hunting down enemies, setting up Winter Soldier’s weapons, and eventually turning that setup into a barrage of attacks through Firepower.

However, this deck is designed to be highly flexible. It doesn’t rely entirely on Firepower to deal damage. Instead, it has several different ways to attack, including Piercing and Overkill, allowing the deck to adapt to different situations.

I deliberately included a variety of attack events ranging from 1–3 resources, which helps maintain a consistent flow of attacks throughout the game.

One by One is an excellent card for continuously clearing enemies, while Relentless Assault is an efficient way to deal with Minions and can generate great value when Overkill is involved.

Firepower is essentially the deck’s finisher. It provides a huge burst of damage and is particularly useful for spreading damage across multiple enemies in Multiplayer when the board is filled with Minions.

The attack events can also be recycled at the right moment by playing Black Widow, giving you another opportunity to reuse your strongest attacks.

Angela and Spoiling for a Fight work especially well with Man on the Wall, making them excellent tools for developing your board during the early and mid game.

Hall of Heroes, Nick Fury, and Face the Past provide excellent card draw and help accelerate the deck’s setup. They allow you to get your key pieces online quickly while giving you flexibility depending on the situation.

Sunfire is another very useful Ally, particularly for removing troublesome Villain Attachments. This deck contains enough Energy resources to reliably take advantage of Sunfire’s ability.

Captain America becomes an important Ally in the late game. After the deck has gone through its first cycle, he can help Ready Bucky, while his Tough status can absorb one hit. He can also equip S.H.I.E.L.D. Sidearm, giving him an additional way to contribute to the fight.

Finally, Bambino is an excellent weapon for the Firepower strategy because it doesn’t need to Exhaust after using its counter, allowing you to get tremendous value from it while continuing to make use of Firepower.

Final Thoughts

As always, thank you very much for taking the time to read this deck guide all the way to the end.

If you’re interested in trying this list yourself, I hope you have as much fun with it as I have. And most importantly, I hope it helps you enjoy Winter Soldier and Bucky’s unique playstyle even more!

Good luck, and happy hunting!

I've played this deck with friends, and it's honestly one of the best Aggression decks I've used. It's an incredibly flexible build centered around Bucky, who absolutely excels at clearing minions. Better yet, every minion you defeat also helps remove Threat, effectively covering Aggression's biggest weakness.

my friend taken this deck against some of the toughest Expert villains in the game—including Ronan, Loki, Magneto, and Venom Goblin—and it's beaten all of them.

With this deck, you rarely have to worry about minions piling up or the Main Scheme suddenly getting flooded with Threat. At key moments, it can also help with threat management, taking a lot of pressure off the Justice player. That allows Leadership and Protection to focus on what they do best instead of constantly covering for the team. As a result, every Aspect gets to shine and the whole table runs much more smoothly.

Against the game's top-tier villains, this deck dramatically reduces the pressure on your team and lets everyone play their decks to their full potential. Sure, you can still lose to bad draws—that's just card games. RNG happens, and I don't think that's something that should count against this hero.

I really hope more people give this deck a shot. A lot of players think this hero only works well in 3–4 player games because of the teamwork involved, but I don't agree. This deck performs surprisingly well in true solo too. Bucky has excellent survivability, and constantly clearing minions keeps Threat under control before the Main Scheme ever becomes a problem.

I genuinely recommend giving this deck a try. It's an extremely well-rounded list that you can confidently bring into any campaign.

@Beruka Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an incredibly thoughtful comment. Honestly, reading this made me extremely happy and genuinely touched.

I'm really glad to hear that you and your friends have been enjoying the deck, and it means a lot to me that you’ve taken it against some of the toughest Expert villains in the game and had success with it. Hearing that it helped your whole team play more smoothly is especially rewarding, because that was exactly the kind of experience I wanted this deck to provide.

I also really appreciate you sharing your experience with True Solo. I’ve always believed that this hero is capable of much more than people give him credit for, so seeing someone else have the same experience honestly means a lot to me.

Thank you again for your kind words and for giving my deck a chance. Comments like this genuinely make all the time I’ve spent building, testing, and refining the deck feel worthwhile. I’m incredibly grateful that you enjoyed it. ❤️

When Firepower came out, I made a deck built around Winter Soldier, because it's so strong against him. But focusing on that combo only, while super powerful for him, isn't enough to win. I like how this deck has other options to deal with stuff while you build up for the Firepower big turns.

Sep 04, 2026 ThunderStorm_PK · 1113

@phtephen Exactly! Firepower can deal a huge amount of damage and have a major impact on the game, but early on, it’s difficult to use it to its full potential. On top of that, when facing a troublesome villain like Magneto, getting “Exhaust each upgrade and support” on the turn you draw Firepower can make it essentially useless. That’s why I intentionally designed this deck to have a variety of ways to attack and deal with different situations, rather than relying solely on Firepower.

I forgot to mention one more thing: this deck is even more fun when you take it through a campaign or fight the villains from the Fear No Evil box. You really get to roleplay as the Punisher while playing it! And I really hope that someday FFG will make Punisher as an actual playable hero.

I feel like this deck is not doing anything special. It's just Focus on Bucky strength and sometimes that's all you need. I love the call out of Relentless Assault, that card should see more play.

Sep 07, 2026 ThunderStorm_PK · 1113

@Champion Mel Thanks for the feedback! I think Relentless Assault is a really good card, and it actually gets a lot of use in this deck, especially when playing Multiplayer with 3–4 players.

It’s useful for clearing Minions with Overkill, but another important benefit is that it provides an Energy resource, which makes it very easy to use it to pay for Electrical Discharge or Sunfire.

Hmm... Personally, I think Relentless Assault is a card that a lot of people overlook, but it actually has a lot of utility, especially in Multiplayer. When I tested this list with my friends, there were many situations where this card made dealing with Minions incredibly easy, while also allowing Bucky to remove 2 Threat with his ability.

I also think Aggression decks don’t necessarily need to be overly complicated. Especially with an Aggression deck like this that can handle Expert Solo, I feel that when you’re up against the top Villains, being able to play aggressively, clear problems quickly, and finish the game as fast as possible is a very good approach.

Sep 07, 2026 ThunderStorm_PK · 1113

@Joe555xxx1234 Oh, I’m glad to hear that Relentless Assault has been useful for you! But don’t forget that this list has plenty of other ways to deal damage as well. And I’m really happy to hear that you’re enjoying the deck!

@EastWest When I built and played this list, I didn’t have the new Luke Cage cards yet. If you want to update the deck now that you have the pack, I’d recommend replacing Spoiling for a Fight with Size Advantage.
