Hulk continues to get more fun as the card pool expands. This leadership deck is quite good and covers his weaknesses. But I also continue to test my suite of house rules for him. I always try to keep house rules as minimal and thematic as I can. Here's what helps my Hulk.
*Boundless Rage amended with "and search your deck, discard pile, and hand for Banner's Laboratory and put it into play." and increase its cost to 2.
*Banner's Laboratory gains "Forced Response: When you change form, discard this card and search your deck, discard pile, and hand for Boundless Rage and put it into play."
Rage almost never saw play since you'd lose those 2ER every time you flipped down (including being forced by your untimely obligation). It's 3ER now, but you only have to play it once (or not at all) since it swaps with his Lab. This combo also effectively lets Hulk always have 4ATK (which was a big community desire).
*Enraged is an (attack) and amended with "Then deal X damage to an enemy, where X is the number of physical resources discarded."
Takes the only pure-downside Hero and makes it much more interesting. Is affected by but can help clear Stun, and can also turn an unfortunate double Limitless Strength draw into a huge SMASH!
*Unstoppable Force draws a card for each physical resource paid.
Before this was more or less a 2ER ready, which is OK but also just on par with some Aspect and Basic cards. Now Hulk can get it for 1ER by using his favorite resource.
*Similarly, Sub-Orbital Leap removes 1 additional threat for each physical paid.
Now Hulk can remove up to 6, plus even a single physical makes the floor 4 instead of 3.
*Hulk Smash should read "For each physical resource paid, choose for that attack to gain piercing+, overkill, or deal 1 additional damage."
It was dumb that Tough completely stopped Hulk in his tracks. The additional damage is mostly because I wanted a third option enticing you to still fully pay with physical, and it does allow you to simply throw 13 more damage at the Villain's face if they're clear.
*Increase Bruce Banner's Experimental Research to 2 (both draw and discard).
This one honestly gets used the least in practice, unless you're really digging for a specific card, since the rest of the house rules really make Hulk's turns more powerful and fun.
I hope you find these house rules as interesting and fun as I do!
+I also house rule piercing to discard a single Tough (so Armadillo, Colossus, and Luke Cage aren't so incredibly weak to it). I could make it piercing 1 meaning it's stackable/can be chosen multiple times.
