This is a Angel deck built around 3 core mechanics:
- explosive Aerial card turns, be it with damage or thwart.
- controlled AE flipping for free healing, card draw & Tough status.
- Taunt-based draw through all damage prevention by Tough.
Core engine 1: Needs no intro really. Chain together Aerial events and ready effects to generate huge swings using damage or thwarting, It's what Angel's kit does.
Core engine 2: -Use Metamorphosis to flip to AE: get a card from flipping. -Crew Quarters + Angel AE ability = 2 free heal, -Use Worthington industries, get a card. -Flip back up, use Moira, get another card, -Use Hidden base, get Tough.
Core engine 3: Play Taunt. Absorb the attack with Tough. Draw more cards. Loop to engine 1. Repeat.
Allies Armor, Polaris & Clea have been selected for more damage absorbtion outside of Taunt/Tough. You shouln't need to defend much. Cannonball is a no brainer, he's too good to not include.
Keep these 3 engines running to control the pace, Flip when needed without Metamorphosis also, and use Angel’s massive Aerial bursts to win.
Unless you add Children of the Atom, you can't ever play Armor. She specifically says "play only if you have the X-Men trait." Angel is X-Force. Easy fix; just add 1 card and you're golden.
