Magik is amazing!
This deck revolves around Hulk and discarded the strength resource from the top of your deck to ensure that he always does at least 5 damage (3&2).
Just a quick note for Magik’s own “Magic barrier”. If you start with this in your opening hand discard it as a priority when using your mulligan. When you then flip to Hero her response ability allows you to put this card, which is a strength resource onto the top of your deck.
The strength resource card then works well with “Soul Sword” and “The Hulk” straight away.
We have “Spiritual meditation” and “Goldballs” which mill the deck. “Goldballs” should be played with caution, but 9 times out of 10 he’ll get a +1 to his attack stat because you know which card will be discarded. If you’re feeling lucky and you’ve got “Goldballs” and “The Hulk” down, attack with “Goldballs” and then get rid of the top card, if it’s not a strength resource”.
I’d strongly recommend not chump blocking with “The Hulk” and not attacking with him if you’re not sure what the next resource card is.
“Enraged” works two ways… it has a strength resource icon so “Hulk” can discard it. It can also remain on the top of the deck for Magik to get +1 with “Soul Sword”. You could also attach it to “The Hulk” so he’ll get even more damage, with the downside of more consequential damage. I prefer discarding it, but the option is there. Maybe you’ve had a terrible day at work and just want “The Hulk” to pretend that the villain was that guy who cut you up on your way home! “Sidearm” is also a strength resource but this is fantastic to attach to “The Hulk”. There’s no downsides to this at all. Plus, “The Hulk” will gain ranged. Against certain enemies, or encounter cards with retaliate these can really hinder “The Hulk”. No thank you.
All of the cards work well to have Magik as a destroyer. This deck ploughed its way through expert mode on the “Next Evolution” campaign slapped Juggernaut across his exposed face.
