Iron Man

Baby’s First Deck! This one is limited to what’s contained in the Core set.

So far, my favorite Hero/Aspect combo in the core set is Ironman/Leadership.

I was intimidated by this one at first, since you don’t start the game particularly strong and once flipped to Hero mode your default hand size is…1.

But I really really love “slow burn” plays like this - to me it’s just so fun to build out Iron Man’s kit with tech upgrades and recruit allies. I’ve been playing against Klaw, who is a lot of fun. Things got a little dodgy while I was getting set up. But once I was all kitted out and had my allies I was able to take a ton of actions in my final player phase (thanks to upgrades and other cards that increased attack and allowed me to ready again after attack and so forth). #Inspired turned out to be a really awesome one - I don’t know why I only added one, I think 3 of those would be great here. I used one #Inspired on Vision, which increases his attack from a base of 2 to 3 (and thwart from 1 to 2). Then, per the text on Vision’s card I discarded an energy resource and gave him +2 attack (limit once per round). Then #Leadfromthefront gives +1 ATK and THW until the end of the phase. Hopefully I didn’t break a rule there by stacking them on Vision (didn’t see anything against doing that on the cards). So then Vision gets 6 attack. Exhausted Vision. The +2 is only good once per round, so his attack is +4 after using #GetReady to ready him again. And #SupersonicPunch is so fun to use with aerial.

Very successful against Klaw - I had struggled against him with She-Hulk using the aggression aspect. Will have to try that again.

Can’t wait to dive into other packs and see what leadership cards might go well here.
