Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash....

Noticing that Hulking has a solid hero-specific defense event, Armored Defense, which deals damage to the attacking enemy equal to his DEF, led to a Flow Like Water deck. Additionally, playing low cost events, even in the villain phase, triggers the effect on his shapeshifter upgrade. So, these are the protection events, all with a Defense trait, to trigger Flow Like Water: Desperate Defense, Cuts Both Ways, I Can Do This All Day, Not Today. Any of them can be swapped with Disarming Defense if facing a villain that uses many attachments.

Boosting the DEF stat to get more output from Armored Defense is the second objective of the deck. Playing it along with Desperate Defense or Not Today in the same turn is very satisfying. Armored Vest and Defensive Conditioning add +2 to the base DEF.

Since Hulking is defending, Electrostatic Armor pings another damage while Unflappable draws a card. In playing so many defense events, Defensive Energy could draw another card. Nerves of Steel supplements Alien Physiology in generating resources for them. Jocasta tutors and holds one, usually Armored Defense, from discard. Brother Voodoo likely finds one when entering play. Patriot rounds out the ally roster to manage tempo when defending against multiple enemies.

Even though Preservation and the 2 points of healing from triggering Armored Shape keep Hulking fairly healthy, if he needs to flip down to alter-ego Dr. Sinclair can bring him back up quickly and remove a status card. Especially good in multiplayer and this deck can defend for the entire table with both Desperate Defense and I Can Do This All Day.

Defensive Training could be added to shuffle protection events back into the deck, but using the Altman Residence to get Armored Defense or Impersonation is generally good enough. Also, since Hulking is primarily defending against the villain, Change of Fortune is not included, though it could be.

Flow like water and you will find your way through any rock. It's not the obstacles that stops us, but our unwillingness to try a different approach.

Looks really good. I would change one of the resources for Change of Fortune to draw even more cards.
