TL;DR: Use Mutant Education and Ready for a Fight to recycle BAMF and Nightcrawler’s events so his identity specific cards appear when you need them and his defense engine stays online.

Mutant Education

The core of the deck is Mutant Education, which lets you shuffle BAMF and whichever Nightcrawler event you want back into the deck. Since most of his events only have two copies, this helps them appear when you actually need them.

More BAMFs also means a steadier defense and better setup for many of his events.

Ready for a Fight

Ready for a Fight is what makes the engine work. It lets you safely flip to Alter-Ego to play Mutant Education, then flip back up next turn ready to defend again.

Your single Port Away can also create this flip opportunity, and Mutant Education lets you shuffle it back if you want to repeat the setup.

Economy

Nightcrawler can sometimes struggle to afford his cards, so the deck includes several cheap resource generators in his prehensile tail, deft focus, x-gene along with x-jet

Card draw from Unflappable and Change of Fortune helps keep your hand full. Excelsior or Tally Ho! can trigger Change of Fortune, and Tally Ho! can be shuffled back with Mutant Education to keep that draw going.

The Rest of the Class

All allies are basic, which works well with The Power in All of Us for double resources and helps pay for the deck’s basic supports.

Defense Package

Armored Vest, Defensive Conditioning, and Specialized Training push Nightcrawler’s defense high enough that attacks you BAMF are very unlikely to deal damage.

Final Exam

This deck focuses on keeping BAMF and Nightcrawler’s events cycling so his kit shows up when it matters. With strong defense, steady resources, and Mutant Education keeping the right tools in rotation, Nightcrawler stays ready for whatever the villain throws at him.

Now don’t forget to hit the books… and happy ‘porting!
