West Coast Avengers original run (1984–1994)
The team is founded by Hawkeye in response to a suggestion by the Vision to expand the Avengers' influence. Hawkeye recruits Tigra, Mockingbird, Wonder Man, and Iron Man, who is really Rhodey and not Tony, an unknown fact at first. The team would later take on Hank Pym as a scientific advisor and compound manager.
Mechanically, Mockingbird throws off all the tribal cards like Avenger's Tower and Mighty Avengers. Maybe on brand for the West Coast team early days, but requires a pivot here. Quincarrier, Triskelion, and Team Training remain solid supports.
Tigra's hero-specific cards are the key for damage output. Two copies of multiple low cost leadership events round out the tools to flex this team's abilities. Team work can keep War Machine's tough status card on longer or use Wonder Man's 3 ATK without discarding a card. Get Ready and Earth's Mightiest Heroes get the right fighters on their toes. Squared Off loads up the minion row to power the Cat's Head Amulet and prepare for card draw while putting a costlier ally into play. Mockingbird can pop in to stun the minion not disabled by Moon Knight or Hunted.
