Weather Warning!
A Fujiwhara is a weather phenomenon where two storms merge into one and become more powerful in the process. That’s exactly what happens when the Prince of Asgard and the Mistress of the Elements join forces!
This deck began life as a fun thematic experiment but with some fine-tuning, it’s turned into something surprisingly powerful. It’s heavy on thwart potential, allowing Thor to focus on smashing villains while Storm expertly dismantles their schemes. And along the way, they might even gain an unlikely ally...
Core Concept
Infiltration shines here, it gives Thor some big early thwarts and can even net a few extra cards. You’ll need them, since Storm’s high-cost cards (and lack of trait-based reductions) mean we’ll have to build up to her arrival.
Your early game priorities:
-
Build Support — get Asgard down first.
-
Follow up with Helicarrier or Quincarrier to smooth out resource generation.
-
Use Superpower Training to fetch God of Thunder and bolster your economy._
Midgame
Try to save Face the Past for later if you can but if playing it early means getting Storm onto the field, that’s a worthy trade.
Once Storm joins the fight, we’ve got a few tricks to keep her around:
Mission Training + Honorary Avenger boost her to 6 HP,
X-Mansion provides healing while Thor pops into alter-ego (helped by Upside the Head),
Game Time keeps her healing and readying, turning her into a thwarting powerhouse.
With Storm handling the plans, Thor can go back to what he does best, swinging Mjolnir and bringing the thunder.
The Fujiwhara Finish
Here’s where things take a twist.
Show of Empathy is the key, it starts with 6 Threat but costs us nothing. That makes it a perfect playground for Storm’s ability.
Thwart 4 from the main scheme and add 2 back? Easy.
Thwart 4 off your player side scheme and add 2 there? No problem, empathy in abundance.
Keep this cycle going while building your field... until the time is right.
Remember Face the Past from earlier? This is our moment. Activate it, grab five cards, and ready yourself. Whether Show of Empathy has 6 Threat or 60 doesn’t matter, what counts is how much you can take off. And wouldn’t you know it? Storm thwarts 4 off with ease, exactly Loki’s HP.
You redeem your brother, stand side by side, and take the fight to the villain. And with First Aid and an extra Honorary Avenger, Loki can stick around to help finish the job.
Final Thoughts
This deck is pure fun. It’s thematic, it’s dynamic, and it feels incredible when everything clicks into place. Just remember — when Thor and Storm combine their power... you’d better bring an umbrella.
