You've heard of nine lives, how about a hand-size of nine? Imagine this... the villain phase begins while Tigra is in alter-ego with a hand-size of six. When the villain goes to scheme, a previously played Ready for a Fight flips Greer into hero form and her Cat-Like Reflexes prevents three (or six) of the damage. Three Pinned Down minions attack for 0 while a fourth minion is defeated by a Powerful Punch, Riposte, or an Under Control, then drawing you an additional three cards from Change of Fortune and Unflappable, bringing your hand-size to nine. if that's not enough, at the beginning of the hero phase, Tigra will draw an additional three cards from her On the Hunt response, bringing her hand-size up to 12. This kitty has some sharp claws.

Awesome deck! Its definitely going on to my list of decks i need to try. I feel like its kinda missing a Nerves of Steel. You got 6 defence events and Jocasta.

Hey @Semper Ludens! Had a great time playing with you at GenCon. Tigra is so good in Protection, and this deck looks fun!

If you leave one copy of Hunted in the deck, you can always tutor this to hand in alter ego to pay for Dr. Sinclair. This might make Angel's Aerie unnecessary.

I made a similar deck, but leaned into Ready for a Fight with three copies of Practiced Plan to be able to flip down every turn. I also found that Tigra didn't need extra minion summoning... So I cut "Come Get Me, Bub!".

@Kalsa86 Good suggestion. I considered Nerves of Steel, but there's actually just three defense events, totaling 5 cards, so it's may not be worth it.

@Footballcoach Practiced Plan is definitely a great use to recur Ready For a Fight. Having Dr. Sinclair in play, Come Get Me, Bub is also not needed to heal for 3. And yes, spending a Hunted is a great way to pay for Dr. Sinclair's required cost. I'll likely drop the three copies of Come Get Me, Bub and add What Doesn't Kill Me instead, if anything, to provide Tigra with additional ways to ready.

This has got to be the dumbest idea ive ever heard.

Lol, sorry eric im just messing with you. I think this would be a great deck to play with the exception of villains that do t have alot of minions in it, like absorbing man. But let's face it this is probably a better deck then im ever goi g to build.

@Cnspartan117 I thought about that, too. This type of deck wouldn't pop off of there aren't minions to fuel the green machine. But consider this:

  • you only really need 3 minions that can be invalidated by pinned down.
  • Tigra bring two of them with her in her own nemesis set (not that you can control when/if this comes out)
  • most mod sets include minions

With these things in mind... A situation where Tigra cannot Pin Down three minions is the rare exception, rather than the rule. (and if you're worried about it, pick a mod set that allows her to shine).

I think this looks great. Immediately Pinned Down makes protection likely her best aspect?

Oct 24, 2025 Footballcoach · 962

@boomguy probably. I tried her in justice with Informant yesterday. I won the game, but it didn't flow. Tigra wants minions that she doesn't need to kill. Tigra wants to flip. Protection does both of those.

I had to leave a game half finished this morning where Tigra (Aggression, Troop Commander with "Bring It!") played alongside Hulkling (mostly basic, but with 3x Pinned Down). Will see how that game goes.
