Cosmo the Flying Dog

This is a classic voltron deck with an aerial twist for Alexis' custom deckbuild request.

2 Handed Playthrough with Winter Soldier

Cosmo naturally keeps herself alive with Falcon's hero ability to always know what card type to declare. All we have to do is buff her!

• Honorary Avenger is the first step because this gives Cosmo the Avenger trait which is required for 2 of our other ally upgrades. Honorary Avenger also gives Cosmo +1 HP in case ping damage hits her.

• Sky Cycle is the second step but it can only be equipped to an Avenger ally. Having a free ready every turn on an ally that doesn't take consequential damage is double value! This also gives Cosmo the Aerial trait to unlock Flight Squadron and Hugin & Munin for her.

• Inspired is the third step to boost Cosmo's thwart and attack giving her versatility. She becomes an on-demand 4 thwart or 4 attack every turn with Inspired + Sky Cycle.

• Sidearm is the fourth step to give Cosmo another +1 attack and ranged so we can avoid retaliate damage.

• Laser Blaster is the fifth step to give Cosmo another +1 attack and overkill.

• Power Gloves is the sixth step to ping damage off each time Cosmo activates. This will trigger at least twice per turn because Cosmo will be activating at least twice per turn with Sky Cycle. Can also only be equipped to an Avenger ally.

How to Build Cosmo

Voltron decks are inconsistent by nature, especially in terms of survivability because the ally we're voltroning doesn't want to chump-block. Because of this, the other allies in this deck are expendable and relatively cheap. We have Make the Calls to recur advantage allies like Maria Hill, and Suit Up to find the specific ally upgrade we're looking for (Suit Up can only grab an upgrade that can be attached to the ally that's being tutored, so if we are looking for Sky Cycle or Power Gloves we need to select Stinger as the Avenger ally).

Confusing the Villain

Professor X doesn't really fit in his deck because he can't fly! But we need him to confuse the villain so that we can flip down and Suit Up when needed. Make the Call is a great way to recur Professor X to get that confuse.

Aerial Lineup

We have 6 aerial allies in the deck and with Flight Squadron we can have up to 4 at a time. The non-aerial allies are there to support Falcon early game, but once he's set up with Cosmo controlling the board we want to only have the aerial cards in play. Flight Squadron and Hugin & Munin can give Cosmo 2 additional readies on top of Sky Cycle.

Cosmo Best Dog

When Cosmo is fully built out, she'll have 2 thwart and 4 attack. Each time she activates she can ping an additional damage with Power Gloves. With Sky Cycle she's dealing 10 damage every turn. Add in the ready from Flight Squadron and Hugin & Munin and Cosmo can deal 20 damage in a single turn!
