Fixin' Our Broken Economy

Introduction

Whenever I ask someone what's the biggest problem with Marvel Champions I always get the same answer:

"Captain Marvel is too Broke. She's so Poor."

Well, we can finally fix this issue with Maria Hill.

My wife was playing Captain Marvel Pool as we were playing through the AOS expert campaign. I was going first round one planning my turn and I asked my wife what she was playing as I was going to have some spare resources. She said Alpha Flight and that's when I had to do a double-take of On The Double...and this was somehow the first time I noticed that it readies ANY shield support, and being an action you can use it off turn. She ended up using my helicarrier, support staff, and Alpha Flight Station, I readied them and she did it again. Round one she got down Alpha Flight Station, Helicarrier, Quincarrier, Avengers Mansion and one or two more cards. Thus, I finally fixed Captain Marvel Pools terrible economy!

However, this got me trying to plan out huge support turns.

Note: this is not the deck I used but can illustrate the potential results better.

Big Economy Play

Captain Marvel starts in Alter-Ego While Maria Hill is in Hero Form. It doesn't matter who is going first, but its slightly more efficient if Maria Hill goes first.

1) If captain Marvel goes first Maria Hill uses Government Liason to play a Shield card out of turn.

2) Captain Marvel draws a card with her Alter-ego abilty (7 cards) and uses Alpha Flight Station (8 cards).

3) Maria Hill thwarts with Agent 13 using field agent and Cell Phone if off turn, readying Alpha Flight Station. Captain Marvel uses Alpha Flight Station (9 cards) and Maria hill readies Agent 13 with Command Team.

4) Repeat step 3 (10 cards)

5) Repeat step 3 (11 cards)

6) If Maria was first player she may do it one more time, except Agent 13 will be out of field agents and take 1 damage.

7) At some point spend a helicarrier, which could be during step 1. Spend on the double readying helicarrier, Government Liason and Alpha Dlight Station for one final card draw. (12 cards) You can still have a decent turn, while Marvel can explode.

So not only is she up 5 cards, she also got to cycle 5 bad cards from her hand, of which Captain Marvel has a lot.

Other Options

While Captain Marvel is probably the best candidate, there are other good options you can power up.

Black Widow Safehouse 29 can tutor multiple preparations, giving her extra plays.

War Machine Munitions Bunker can be filled faster for big OTKs. Cyclops is here for the assist and can be played off turn with Circe or Make The Call.

Leo Fitz A little pricier for on the double, but tutoring 2 or more techs will be insane for a few characters or builds.

Honorable mentions to Nick Fury, and while just bad, Miles Morales.

This combo looks like it will be insane with Winter Soldier. Draw 5, flip up and draw 5 more with Bring it? Yeah!

Other Fun Interactions

Did your justice player draw into 2 Homeland interventions but he doesn't have enough supports? You can help him ready them.

Reinforcements can add counters to any Shield card. Munitions Bunker can help, or if someone else is running surveillance team that will be great. The new upcoming Target Spotter card will really get a huge buff from you throwing one or two extra counters to help them out, especially if its Thor.

And Maria Hillcan move counters between any Shield Support, not just hers. Why not throw one on a med-team? Or steal one from someone else to power your helicarrier. The options are pretty large.

Closing Thoughts

Now I know what you're thinking, couldn't I just have ended the game with all those readies and Illiad?

Probably, but where's the fun in that!?!
