"Ooo, why is this deck named Earth Angel?"

Um, because the green-on-green of Phoenix Protection made me think of earth, which made me think of Earth Angel, and now that song's been stuck in my head ever since. LOVE THAT SONG.

So a couple of the big ideas of this deck are:

ROGUE: How cool is it that she can ping Phoenix and get +3 THW? Since it's "printed," this persists even if/when Phoenix is unleashed, so you will have a consistent thwart for 5 on the board once she's out.

CHANGE OF FORTUNE: Card of the hour, an archetype to itself. And it's very cool that Phoenix can make use of Psychic Misdirection or even Psi-Flail Strike (or especially Psimitar!) in order to trigger it. I'm also running Energy Barriers because why not (plus they have a cool interaction with Rogue's "deal 1 damage").

"COME GET ME, BUB!": Yet another Certified Fresh card. I like how summoning minions with Phoenix, specifically, means you could then hit them with Mind Control or even (puke) Mental Paralysis. Gotta love unique interactions.

I think it's cool that Rogue can drop Specialized Training (solo) or Astonishing X-Men in one fell swoop. Build Support and Superpower Training are so easy for Phoenix to drop, and Superpower Training summoning Mind Control is a classic.

Phoenix was on my radar for testing with Rogue. I think she's gonna be one of the best heroes for it. I think maybe this can be split into 2 separate decks: Rogue utopia one, and a fortune one. But it looks like it would be fun this way as well. Great name too!

@HeroicSkeleton Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I absolutely think you can split the two concepts, you’re very right. I often blend two pretty distinct objectives in my deck if I think I can accomplish both, but it’s totally possible and smart to split them if that works better for you. I also don’t mind making it a 50-card deck because I like seeing her Basic / aspect cards more often than her own cards, but yeah to keep it closer to 40 you’d have to pick a lane.
