"Calm & Steady Wins The Race" and this deck is designed to turn on his engine extremely quickly through the power of Meditation.

Here is how:

Meditation has a few drawbacks...

  • Situational because it requires Alter-Ego.
  • Requires identity to be exhausted.

The nice part about Quicksilver is if you have a Meditation in hand, you can use his AE ability to discard two cards and draw 2 new ones to increase your chances of drawing a better card to "meditate" on.

Plus, while in AE you can keep his deck loaded with Hero cards using Serval Industries which gives him ample opportunities to ready when he switches back into Hero mode with Always Be Running.

As a result you typically always have options, with very little downside and HUGE upside in flipping to AE.

In addition - Quicksilver has one of the best abilities and hero cards to help deal with threat, making this pairing with Aggression extremely powerful in both solo and multiplayer.

Keys to success:

  • Do everything possible to mulligan into a meditation and a resource generator (ideally Friction Resistance) turn one. Worst case scenario you should be able to get out a 3 cost Ally for free.

  • Get Bug (with a Energy Spear) and Tigra out early. Do not chump block with them as they will primarily be responsible for dealing with minions.

  • Thor, Throg and Hulk are ideal chump blockers.

  • You should be flipping to AE every 2 turns or so to refresh your deck and keep it filled with Quicksilver cards to help manage threat.

  • Load up on weapons and then blast the villain to smithereens.

Testing experiences:

This deck has been primarily tested for solo play and cleared expert Mutagen Formula, Klaw and Ultron (barely). Should have no problem with mid-tier villains and act a perfect compliment to any multiplayer game.

Have fun!

On the rounds where you use Meditation in AE, you're now exhausted. When you flip to hero, Super Speed won't ready you because you didn't use your basic power. So, do you have to have an Always Be Running in your hand to ready you? Otherwise it feels like it wouldn't be worth it to Quicksilver to exhaust with Meditation.

Exactly @InigoMontoya you need to have an Always Be Running in your hand. It might seem like it will be clunky but it works most of the time. Especially since you'll likely have at least one of Deft-Focus, Helicarrier or Avengers Mansion on the table to help pay for resources/superpower cards.

If you get unlucky and don't have an Always Be Running you'll likely have at least a Double Time to help manage threat for a turn.

Have you tried Civic Duty with this build? I could imagine really struggling to remove enough threat to flip to AE often in solo.

@Marctimmins89 oh don't worry about threat. There is more than enough threat removal in this deck. For example - Maximum Velocity gives +2, Hyper Perception +1, so if you have an Always Be Running in hand that's 8 threat removed. Other options involve Double time (2 Threat X 2) and does not need Quicksilver to be ready. Even if you get Hyper Perception out early, if you flip from AE to hero and play an Always Be Running - that is 2 threat X 2 because you can use your normal ability again.

The explanation the author is missing is that you should start in hero, use the basic power, ready, then flip down and exhaust. And even then, it’s still not very good other than just Quicksilver is already strong on his own

Sorry, I shouldn’t have said not very good. But definitely it feels random. Meditation saves 1 ER over spending a double resource and readies are usually costed at 2 ER. Suggesting to play Meditation and then flip up and play Always Be Running kind of nullifies the ER saved. Best case scenario I see is using Meditation to play Scarlet Witch into Super Powered Siblings. The problem is if you do that when you flip down, you’ll be drawing a ton of hero cards in alter-ego. If you do it when you flip up, you have to spend an Always Be Running or miss out on the unique aspect of playing Quicksilver altogether.
