Playthroughs:

This is my first time to ever use Target Practice or Guardians of the Galaxy all thanks to NelsonAllOver’s Deck Factory on Target Practice!

Also, caffeine = laser blaster? I think so.

Why Venom?

Venom as a guardian has access to powerful guardian cards like "Welcome Aboard" to make it easy for allies to come into play. He also has the ability to grab a weapon right away AND through Locked and Loaded.

Weapons

Venom’s initial setup ability will let him start with a weapon. This means that you can mulligan for an ally and ways to pay for that ally, then hit a weapon. You’re ready to go.

If you get a Venom weapon instead, that’s okay because you’ll be using Venom to defend. His weapons help make sure you can still do board control.

After Venom has all his weapon cards, you can use Locked and Loaded to grab Laser Blaster or Sidearm to equip to an ally and draw from Guardians of the Galaxy. The ability of Guardians can work even when you attach the upgrade to someone else’s ally. Now Locked and Loaded will rarely be a dead card.

No Chumps Only Target Practice

This deck uses allies for their abilities. When Venom has his pistols out, he can defend at 4 DEF. Also, he can heal with Project Rebirth 2.0 without exhausting himself. Allies should do their best to stay in play. In general, try to keep Yondu and one other ally in play at all times using First Aid. The third slot can be used by someone and potentially block if you need the extra activation.

Use Target Practice to up the damage of a weapon from either your ally or another player’s ally that you attached a weapon to.

So the most powerful setup is to have Beta Ray Bill with a weapon do 6 damage with Target Practice defeating a minion, removing threat, and dealing overkill damage to the villain.

Or do 6 damage with a decked out Gamora who will let you get an event to play instead of removing threat. Not too bad.

Sideboard

There are tons of great cards you can use to enhance this deck. If you don’t mind going over 40 cards, take these cards for a spin:

All in all, this deck capitalizes on allies who can get weapons and do big things from activations and drawing you a card for giving them a weapon.

Yondu with a Sidearm and a Laser Blaster is nuts. The fact Venom so easily plays both is terrifying.

@GhostWithKnife right?! I wasn’t originally a fan of Venom in Leadership, but after Nelsonallover’s challenge, I can say that I’m a fan.

Aren't Adam and Beta Ray Bill not guardians? How do you maneuver around this? Great deck!

That’s a great catch, @GB82797. I just assumed because they came in Star-Lord’s pack. So, we’d need to add in a couple of Honorary Guardian or trade them out for basic guardians (if you did this, trade power of leadership for power in all of us).

It's kinda silly that adam isn't one considering he is as a hero lol... Same with Bill he is in the comics too

@andyr i never thought of using Locked and Loaded for an ally weapon. Really cool concept to make it more viable. Strange to see a venom deck where it focuses on others doing the damage. Im used to him doing the heavy lifting. Thanks for sharing this one I'm going to have to give it a shot! I'm currently working on a Venom leadership s.h.i.e.l.d deck

Thanks, @Castlefrank47! I’ll totally check out your venom shield! I love how his weapons can bring him into any role and the aspect help him pivot. So here, his cards handle the villain phase so your allies (and multigun) can handle the hero phase.

@andyr I agree, that's what drew me to Venom was his ability to handle any situation in any aspect without relying on that aspect. Don't have an ally to chump? Use his pistols and defend. Need to remove some threat and take out a minion? Use the multi-gun. Love how this deck leans into it and let's the allies do some work for him
