By the end of this description, you will too.
This is a medium complexity deck that increases what you can do turn to turn, giving you flexibility to solve whatever problems you need and never leaving you with hands full of resources you can't use to impact the game. It also avoids some of the classic "resource dumps" common in Bishop decks like Machine Man and Lockjaw in favor of more interesting and effective combos.
This deck has been tested against a variety of scenarios and player counts, and performed really well! It is able to consistently manage the problems that arise on the board and can flex into whatever role the table needs. And most importantly, it's fun!
| Player Type: | Spike |
| Player Count: | 1-4p |
| Key Cards: | Med Lab, Won't Stay Down |
| Complexity: | ★★★☆☆ |
| Damage: | ★★★★☆ |
| Threat Control: | ★★★★☆ |
| Survivability: | ★★★★☆ |
| Economy: | ★★★★★ |
| Card Drawing: | ★★★☆☆ |
The central idea of the deck is to become the Trash Man, and use what others might call trash, refuse, or even discard to find gems that will help you along your way.
First, let's go about getting cards into your hand to have a way to spend your resources. This deck has a lot of ways to get things into your hand:
- Avengers Mansion and Symbiote Suit increase your hand size to see more cards; Symbiote Suit also increases the number of times you can use your Energy Absorption ability
- Won't Stay Down gets you an ally into your hand (in AE)
- Use Specialized Training to grab Front Line Specialist to draw an additional card when you take damage and trigger your Energy Absorption ability
- Beast gets a resource to hand
- Weapon X gets a card to hand in exchange for 1 HP (in AE)
- Black Panther pulls Make the Call out of the discard pile and holds it for you, letting you sink resources into it when you need to
- Your Temporarily Displaced ability gets you a card into your hand at just the right time for a lot of actions you want to do in AE
Note that flipping down keeps most of your cards active!
- Med Lab and Won't Stay Down only work in alter-ego
- Make the Call, Command Team, and Avengers Mansion don't care what form you are in
The same goes for the responses on your allies:
- Black Panther can have Make the Call available when you flip down so that you can get a Stored Energy into hand and use it for an ally
- Adam Warlock can also use Stored Energy to pay for the ability on his card and heal an identity for 3 with , and remove 3 from a scheme with , meaning you can grab Stored Energy anytime you flip down and trigger both effects
Second, let's get things out of the trash. Most of your cards will be played from your discard pile:
- Make the Call gets allies out of your (or another player's, if you want to go dumpster diving at your neighbor's house) discard pile
- Black Panther gets Make the Call from the trash
- Pixie loves dumpster diving for you--she gets an X-Men ally from your discard pile to hand
- Won't Stay Down can be triggered in AE to pull an ally back to hand, and when you flip down you can trigger your Temporally Displaced ability to get a double resource to hand to pay for it
- Use your AE response after flipping down to pull Stored Energy to hand, and pay for an ally with Make the Call, Won't Stay Down, or Med Lab
Remember that Med Lab plays allies as if they were in your hand, but they enter exhausted. With most of our allies, this doesn't matter:
- M defeats a minion
- Professor X does his thing
- Kid Omega can trigger his effect by spending or
- Black Panther grabs a card from the discard pile
- Beast gets a resource to hand
- Cyclops can trigger a big multiplayer damage turn
Note: An important consideration during play is to monitor what is in the discard pile, and how close to resetting your deck you are. Timing when you flip and use Med Lab or Won't Stay Down, or when to play Black Panther, depend on what is in your discard pile.

What others call trash, we call treasures.

Nov 12, 2025Dumpster diving is the best way to play Bishop, looks fun! Think you weren't a fan in the past, are you coming around to Bishop? |

Nov 12, 2025I’m a huge fan of Bishop—but I haven’t built a good Leadership deck for him yet. I like the interactions, but I cut this down to 40. Removed Symbiote Suit, Plan B, 1x Won’t Stay Down, and 2x Command Team…Still has the heart of the deck. Pretty fun. |
Nov 12, 2025Love Bishop, maybe you're coming around... |

I’ve seen this deck in action a few times now. And serious. What a pile of garbage.
