Space Knight Supremacy
We might never get legitimate Space Knight support in Marvel Champions, but that won't stop Venom from donning Excelsior, the sword a true space knight deserves.
Sword of Fortune
I love Excelsior in Change of Fortune decks. Leave any minion with 2 health at the end of your turn and you'll easily take care of it after defending against the villain. Moreover, with Venom, you can always use your hero ability to trigger the damage. If you also happen to have an Energy Barrier out, you can redirect Venom's self-damage. Nova functionally serves a similar purpose, bringing your villain phase damage output up to a consistent 4 or more.
Card Draw King
Do you like starting your turn with 9 cards in hand? I sure do. Venom already has in-built villain phase draw in the form of Spider-Sense, but Change of Fortune ramps it up a lot. It feels incredible when you draw a card with Spider-Sense as the villain attacks, draw a card when you don't take damage from Unflappable, and finally draw 2 cards from Change of Fortune after you use your hero ability to pay for Excelsior damage. In the late game, this level of card draw makes you feel unstoppable.
Threat Removal?
So the late-game power of the deck is great, how about the early-game? It's mediocre! In particular, threat removal can definitely be a concern. That being said, we have several tools here to help. First off, your setup ability will get you something to help with threat most of the time. Funnily enough, the worst-case is hitting Excelsior, but a Pistol hit is solid and a Multi-Gun hit is incredible. Regardless, Superpower Training is here to get you the latter as soon as possible. Beyond those, Ops Room can help quite a bit with the threat, especially since we want to be defending with this deck. Lastly, Spider-Byte plus an Energy Shield can be great to get out for threat removal. With 8 Tech cards in the deck, it's unlikely she'll be expensive.
Knighthood Awaits!
Well, what are you waiting for? Claim your sword and live up to the Space Knight title!

Nov 11, 2025Oh my, totally forgot about the deal/take distinction. That definitely takes the power level of this deck down a bit, but thanks for the correction! In that case, it would probably be best to drop Dauntless and add in either Angel's Aerie or The Night Nurse. |
Bro... You can't redirect the damage from the resource, you need to TAKE it...
Nice deck though.
