What ever is a defenseless fuzzy elf like moi to do?

This deck is designed to get Nightcrawler up to 7 Defense using only his basic ability:

• Kurt's Cutlasses
• Armored Vest
• Synch
• Defense Specialist (linked to Specialized Training)

In addition to this, if you are at or above you starting health you can do a punishing 3 damage to the villain and minions for even daring to attacking you:

• Kurt's Cutlasses
• Dauntless
• Electrostatic Armor
• Energy Barrier - could be included if you wanted to do additional damage to the enemies during the Villain Phase, although once you are fully built up this is unlikely to trigger unless the villain is hitting hard

The only all that is critical to the deck is Synch. You will want to try to ensure that he stays out so that you can utilize his Interrupt ability to get +1 to one of your basic powers each turn. The other 3 allies (Armor, Clea, and Starhawk) are more to help protect you in the early game before you get set up. These can be swapped out with other allies to suit your playstyle, or removed all together if you want to thin the deck down.

Half of the deck consists of cards that are intended to stay on the board once played, which will enable you to get to your remaining cards much more frequently.
