The deck

You have two things to do to win a game of Marvel Champions :

  • Clear schemes
  • Kill minions and ultimately the villain

In the deck, there are 8 cards to kill minions:

And There are lots of cards to clear or prevent scheme:

In both cases, your allies can eventually help you. That means that with the drawing powers of both Carol Danvers & Captain Marvel, you should have in hand a card to handle thwart & damages in every turn.
This trust in your deck should bring you to play or discard everything from your hand on every turn. You may eventually keep 1 ally (especially if it's Nick Fury, which can handle almost every situation thrown at you), or a Photonic Blast.

The rest of the deck is mainly composed of cards with resources, to be able to either use the healing/drawing power of Captain Marvel, or charge Energy Channel.

This deck is fairly easy to play, because there is a clear and definitive priority on which card to play, whatever your hand is :

  1. Alpha Flight Station
  2. Energy Channel : ALWAYS play it when you have it (discard the old one to damage something eventually)
  3. Photonic Blast or the ally which will help you the most in the situation
  4. Everything else

Results

  • Rhino Expert + Legions of Hydra : 5 Wins
  • Klaw Expert + Bomb Scare : 1 win
  • Klaw Expert + Under Attack : 1 win
  • Ultron Expert + Bomb Scare : 1 win

This deck has yet to lose, but I haven't tried the harder modular sets with Klaw & Ultron.

Notes

Rhino

I haven't thwarted that much with Captain Marvel, even with her 3 (2 + Heroic Intuition), because For Justice! with a mental resource is very efficient.

So I often used her attack to remove Tough tokens or chip damage, before finishing Rhino with either Photonic Blast or a fully charged Energy Channel.

Klaw

I've used Captain Marvel thwart more, especially at the start of the game with all the side schemes to manage.

Minions are cleared using Haymaker and Photonic Blast while villain damage are almost exclusively done with Energy Channel (and the occasional Photonic Blast).

Daredevil capacity is often used to remove tough statuses.

Multiplayer

I have tested this deck in two-player paired with Protection She-Hulk against Expert Klaw with Under Attack, and in this setup, I was forced to put all my efforts into managing threat. Therefore I did very few damages to Klaw (essentially only Energy Channel, i played almost no Photonic Blast).

It was pretty frustrating, but I managed enough thwarting to control everything (helped by She-Hulk), and we won in the end.

I've tested it with Aggression Black Panther, and this time, due to Black Panther being able to thwart a little, I did a little more damage.

Options for the deck

The only cards I would change in this deck are all supports: you may put almost any rotation of Avengers Mansion / Interrogation Room / Surveillance Team. I'd keep at least one Avengers Mansion, because it fuels the draw capability of this deck, which is what we are looking for.

Still probably the strongest core set deck is Captain Marvel Justice. this one is awesome.

This is great for Ultron Standard + Under Attack mod set. I beat him during stage 2 of 3 with 5 out of 10 threat left on that 2B card. Really clobbered him! Far easier than Klaw. In my opinion, Klaw is the hardest villain in the core set. Ultron was a piece of cake compared to him.
