This deck is my attempt to recreate the “Captain America and the Falcon” run in the Captain America comic in the 70s. Technically this was before Falcon was an Avenger, but using some of the Avengers specific cards makes the deck work. Thematically I’m looking to capture their time working with SHIELD so the deck uses SHIELD cards like Helicarrier and the 3 additional allies.

The main idea is to get Falcon out and power him up with Inspired and Power Gloves. Since he is the only Avenger ally in the deck, he’s the only match for Call for Aid. With the 2 upgrades in place he’s attacking for 4 or thwarting for 3 plus 1 damage each use. The flexibility to hit any enemy with the 1 damage from Power Gloves is great for removing Tough or whittling down a minion.

Reinforced Suit and Team Training keep him around longer for more uses while First Aid and United We Stand help as well. Teamwork and Inspiring Presence also give you more uses of his buffed up stats.

If you don’t have Quicksilver or you want to make it a little easier to manage the allies, replace United We Stand with The Triskelion. It works thematically and can be useful if you are keeping multiple allies in play. I haven’t used Make the Call much so that’s another good target for replacement if you want to switch something else in.

Occasionally I’ve used Inspired on Agent 13 if Falcon’s not out. She can’t use Power Gloves but she’s still pretty effective and there’s a second Inspired in the deck once Falcon is available.

I’ve used the deck to beat all the scenarios through Rise of the Red Skull on Expert (including the Expert campaign) with only a couple losses. Cap and Falcon teaming up to wreak havoc on the villains is very satisfying.
